The Corrupt Bargain of 2003 The first time a Georgian made a serious effort for the Presidency was in the election of 1824 when William Henry Crawford offered for the post. He was lost in the shuffle after suffering a stroke and being opposed by Andrew Jackson, Henry Clay and John Quincy Adams. Crawford remained in the race and whipped Henry Clay, finishing third in total electoral votes. Clay then went to work in the murky waters of his home in the United States House of Representatives and threw the election to John Quincy Adams despite Jackson's finishing first in electoral votes and popular votes (but without a majority). Adams and Clay cobbled together a deal in which the Great Compromiser became Secretary of State (then seen as a stepping stone to the Presidency - sort of the "Premier" of the country) and his "American system" of favorable treatment to industry was adopted by Adams. Immediately, the charges of "Corrupt Bargain" rang from the Jackson and Crawford camps. John Randolph of Roanoke probably put it best when he called it "the coalition of Blifil and Black George . . . the Puritan and the black-leg." (This being a reference to the novel Tom Jones). This characterization had such immediacy and such accuracy that Clay and Randolph blasted away at each other with dueling pistols on the banks of the Potomac. Neither scored a hit after two exchanges and called it a draw. What makes this allusion so appropriate today is the Georgia General Assembly and the present inhabitant of the Governor's Mansion. There another, more recent, history lesson needs re-teaching.We should be thankful that the Bobby Franklin bill sailed through with such ease and now has gotten the signature and praise of the Governor. It is far better to live in a world of facts than fiction and the votes and statements tell friends of Southern Heritage just where these creatures' true loyalties lie. We are governed by the twin forces of hypocritical cant and roguish, unbridled lust for lucre. The forces of hypocritical can be said to be draw mostly from the Civil Rights Industry, Inc. (True, there are some hysterical elements present such as laughfullably lachrymose Senator Mary Squires, but they are truly insignificant except as theater for entertainment on the goggle box.) These shopworn and outmoded street warriors have crushed all real opposition and now drop their masks and seek special privileges for their race while demanding all criticism be censored (if not criminalized) by the forces of political correctness. I would probably abuse the patience of my readers to detail the tawdry stories of corruptions past. Mere reference to the history of the City of Atlanta for the last three decades or the careers of the Reverend Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton ought to suffice. These gentlemen require constant agitation or their lifestyles would require them to get a day job. (See the book "Shakedown.") Their hypocritical cant is exposed by their constant vigilance against any use of merit as a method of preferment in any situation. Clearly, they believe in racial differences as much as the most committed racialist and, in the reverse of Lincoln's dictum that the superior position be assigned to the white race (see the Lincoln-Douglas debate of August 21, 1858) they prefer that the superior position in preferences, scholarships, employment, and even obedience to their whims about the display of Confederate emblems be assigned exclusively to the sons and daughters of Africa. The Civil Rights Industry, Inc. sets up a continual moan about the effects of slavery and how bitter that legacy is to those who have never felt the lash or the chain. It appears that slavery is some form of homeopathic medicine and becomes more powerful the further away you get from it. We need not trouble ourselves long about the state of the Black family, the number of Blacks in prisons, addicted to drugs or other shortcomings that are often ascribed to the magical lingering after-effects of slavery. Evidently, the increasing rates of these problems simply prove that the invidious power of slavery mysteriously gets stronger every passing year. Bad ju-ju! But this indignation is highly selective. Yesterday (April 26, 2003 - Confederate Memorial Day) our sable brothers and sisters of the Democratic persuasion capered off to a soiree grandly entitled a "Jefferson-Jackson Dinner." The fact that both men were slave holders (and Old Hickory traded in slaves) did not merit mention in the public press nor complaint from the professionally aggrieved. Furthermore, Jefferson was an outspoken "racist" by today's lights. My favorite Jefferson quote (because it shows so much about the liberal-left in America) is inscribed inside the Jefferson Memorial. "...Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate than that these people [the blacks] are to be free." The next sentences are conveniently deleted: "Nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government. Nature, habit, opinion have drawn indelible lines of distinction between them. It is still in our power to direct the process of emancipation and deportation presently..." Dare we suggest to Brother Tyrone Brooks that the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner be cleansed and renamed to the Jesse Jackson - Al Sharpton Dinner as more inclusive, less hurtful and less divisive when Africans in America are confronted with such painful reminders of slavery? What about the present reports of slavery in the ancestral homeland? About once a year an anti-slavery society makes a report about the millions of black Africans held in bondage today by black Africans. A crowbar couldn't pry a word out of Tyrone Brooks' mouth on this subject. The enthusiasm over the decades shown by Brooks for the First National Flag of the Confederacy doesn't show ignorance as some have suggested. It shows instead a canny Fabianism the seeks to replace the most easily recognized symbol of the Old South with one that lead to confusion on the battlefield because of it's similarity to the federal banner. Some have further suggested that all we need do is educate the people about the history of the First National Flag and we will have somehow won. Of course, once the First National Flag is clearly understood to be a Confederate symbol, all the usual complaints will be revived once again.Consider the comments of Captain Raphael Semmes. When he hoisted the Stainless Banner he wrote: "We were now wearing that splendid white flag, with its cross and stars, which was so great an improvement upon the old one." The St. Andrew's Cross was the battle flag and was part of the National Flag. It is part of the psyche of the Southland and cannot be abandoned.Next we turn to the Black Georges of the "Corrupt Bargain." These are the politicos, "businessmen" and "pragmatists." They will do anything their owners and employers of the corporate world demand. If asked to legalize opium dens, they would do it if the persuasion were coupled with sufficient promises of money and other emoluments. A "courage award" for having the guts to obey their paymasters would be appreciated as well. At their core they have no higher morality than a pig with its snout in the trough. We can not reason with the Puritan and the Canting Hypocrites. Likewise, we cannot argue with the elected Black Georges. They rent to the highest bidder and we do not command that kind of capital. They must simply be rooted out. Many were in 2002 and more need to go in 2004. Republicans as well as Democrats need to be shoved from the trough regardless of how loudly they squeal. How can it be done? We do not have the money to make the difference unless we plan. All good Confederates should start now and save some money every week and month to apply to the correct political campaigns. Must of us can't sit down and write a check to $500 to defeat Terry Coleman. However, if you lay $50 a month away now, by next year at this time you can help retire Coleman and have money left over to help find Alisha Thomas a real job f 2,000 Georgia Confederates did this for the 2004 election $1,000.000 could be applied with precision on the races that will make the most difference. What do you think the result would be? Besides setting that money aside, consider this: simply to refuse to drink any Coca-Cola products. Drink water. Drink Pepsi. Drink Royal Crown Cola. Drink anything but Coke. Refuse to permit Coke products at SCV events. If a camp meets at a restaurant where Coke products are served, we should collect the money which would have lined Coca-Cola's pockets and set it aside as a war chest. Every time you personally don't buy a Coke, put that saved money aside to liberate your people. Many of us spend a dollar or more a day on the Coke Octopus. That money is used to destroy us. Help defund our enemies and save the Southland! Furthermore, we need to steer clear of Arthur Blank's Home Depot and Georgia Pacific lumber. Any corporate entity that was funding our enemies boasted they did so because the St. Andrew's Cross was bad for business. This is the language of commercial black-legism such as denounced by Randolph. They have competitors. We should patronize them. Ever hear of Ace, Lowe's or Weyerhauser? If we can make the boycott a reality, it will be noticed. They worship so devoutly at the Golden Calf that this behavior will be noted quickly. After all, the threats of boycotts from the Jackson/Sharpton crowd immediately give them "cover" to yield. (Of course, they are looking for the excuse.) If you are offered Coke products at a restaurant tell them why you don't want any. We need to prepare a list of our corporate enemies just as we have our political enemies. The political pigs are only the slaves of their money anyway.Enemies as well as friends recognize the power of our symbols and therefore there can be no acceptable compromise. We must be permitted to choose our own symbols. This was promised us and we must demand satisfaction. The splendid Coleman brothers have provided much of the leadership in the last election. If they were provided with enough manpower and money Blifil and Black George would sink to the ground before their concentrated volleys. Our foes have shown that all they respect is raw political and economic power. It is not an easy fight. We may recall the example of First Manassas. One battle will not end this war. We scored great victories in the election of 2002. However, the Puritans and the Black legs both expect they can outlast us. Whether they are right depends not on them, but on us. One charming thought is that John Quincy Adams was a one-term president. Another is that Henry Clay became a man everyone liked but no one would trust. He himself said he would rather be right than President. He was neither. His role in the Corrupt Bargain of 1824 marked the beginning of more than a quarter century of frustrated presidential ambition. Their spiritual descendants of today (and they are far descended) should be invited by voters to walk the same paths as Adams and Clay. What are you willing to do to help? Does the South mean enough to you
to lay aside $1.37 per day for the next year? Are you willing to stand
in front of scalawags and show the flag? Are you willing to stop funding
our enemies? These steps are small and painless compared to the heroic
deeds of our ancestors. Help spread the word, recommend this
