 Press Conference

 

The Southern Heritage Political Action Committee (SHPAC) is pleased to announce its first press conference in the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Atlanta on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 1:30 p.m.

The Southern Heritage Political Action Committee was formed following the 2003 legislative session to represent Southerners disenfranchised by the actions of our elected representatives.

SHPAC is a grass-roots, nonpartisan, political action committee whose sole goal is to zealously preserve and protect the honorable Heritage of the Southland from the assaults of the politically correct. Our group has no paid staff - it is entirely volunteer.  Every penny raised will be used to elect friends and defeat enemies of our History and Heritage.

At the press conference we will officially unveil our "Deck of Shame."  The Deck of Shame is a deck of playing cards patterned after the highly successful "Most Wanted" cards used to such great success in Iraq.  The deck identifies 52 of the most anti-Southern members of the Georgia legislature and gives the reasons we believe they should be retired.  The highest priority is given to key members of the legislature and to those who broke their promises to the electorate.  We believe that our elected officials must be held accountable for their promises and their votes.

We will also outline some of our other objectives for the current session of the General Assembly and the primary and general elections of the coming year.
